The walk will trace the old Kinder railway from its start point in the village to the Kinder reservoir.
Colin Dival Professor Emeritus of Railway Studies will be telling the story of the building of the railway and pointing out the original route through the landscape. Archive images will be viewed along the way to show how it once looked.
This walk is taking place in collaboration with The Hayfield Civic Trust which is providing refreshments in St Matthew’s Church Hall after the walk. This will provide an opportunity to discuss the railway with Colin Dival, to see a slide show loop and to look at archive documents.
